Introducing a New Kitten 6 Week Old Winky: A Wink and a Nod

Introducing a cute kitten called Winky. Tamara shares with us her 6 week old kitten and how he came to be her little kitten. She has even shared a super adorable cute kitten picture.

When I first met Winky, I was almost convinced that he was actually winking. He was sitting under my car in my employer's parking lot. He let off a few plaintive mews as I coaxed him out from underneath my car with tuna fish.

I asked around my company, but no one owned Winky or knew where he came from (A few weeks later, I figured out that Winky likely was part of a feral cat colony a quarter mile from our building). So I scooped him up, put him in a box, and took him to the vet. The vet proclaimed him healthy and asked if I wanted to give him to the SPCA. Even though we had only spent an hour together, Winky had already won me over.

There is something about a winking cat that charmed me into keeping him. He reminds me of an uncle of mine who always was playing practical jokes and winking when we found out what he had done. Winky is very playful and sweet, and I just had to keep him.

Today, Winky is 6 weeks old. As you can see in the picture, he has a real affinity for boxes. I'm a little worried what will happen when my husband and I move to our new house next week. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to keep Winky in another room and seal up all boxes before he can come back in! He loves to scratch his claws on the cardboard and meow. If I yell, "Winkster!," he'll knock it off and come over to play with me.

I know that there are people out there who can find a kitten and give it to the SPCA, but I'm apparently not one of those people. A week ago, I found a friend for Winky. A sibling of his climbed under my car. We've taken to calling him Loki, for the infamous trickster. Together, Winky and Loki have tricked their way into my heart.
